2019 Event a Big Success

The 31st Annual Oregon Cancer Ski Out is officially in the books! Sunday morning greeted us with beautiful sunshine and eager skiers and snowboarders. The conditions on the mountain were phenomenal! After racing, everyone congregated in the hospitality suite at Best Western Plus Hood River Inn before making their way to dinner. Jackie Groah spoke about the great things that Candlelighter's for Children with Cancer is doing in our community and Justin Timm led us in an exciting oral auction. Ubetcha provided casino entertainment afterward along with terrific live music performed by The Love Handles.

Monday's conditions at Meadows proved to be equally glorious. Congratulations to Vertical Peanuts who captured first place! Dana McDowell was honored with this year's Pig Hat award and the fundraising leader was Team Insanity. Thanks to the efforts by everyone, we raised over $50,000! 100% of these funds go directly to our local beneficiaries in the fight against cancer.

We appreciate all the participants, guests, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and donors who all contribute to make this event serious fun! Everyone plays an important role in the success of this event. Mark your calendars for next year's event: March 8 & 9, 2020.
